      Abstract. In the sense in which Archie Mafeje argued that Africans would not be advocating for Africanity if their Africanness and humanity had not been denied and negated through colonialism and slavery, this chapter argues that decoloniality necessarily has to be a combative confrontation with the way coloniality has negated development in : William Mpofu.
